ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT Despite massive mayhem brought on by COVID, three sophomore Valley Regional High School girls have remained dedicated to debate. Their perseverance has paid off and they have been selected as one of only two debate teams from Connecticut to advance in the International Public Policy Forum (IPPF) debate competition, the first and only competition that gives worldwide high school students the opportunity to engage in written and oral debates on the issue of public policy. ....

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Virginia Tech football team has voted to decline any potential bowl bids this year, which ends the Hokies’ postseason streak at 27 consecutive bowls.
Tech’s run of success from 1993-2019 was the longest-active bowl streak in the nation, and the fourth-longest all-time.
“I think it speaks to the difficulty of the season that they’ve been through,” says Fuente. “There were players that wanted to play.  They were passionate about that.  But we were going to do this all-together, or not.  This was ultimately about our kids, and I think they’ve sacrificed enough.” ....
