Mackay property developer John Cowley, who with his wife Rhonda owns multiple development companies and trusts, has alleged council backflipped on a promise to support his push for a housing subdivision. 1:02 KLCC s Brian Bull reports on efforts to locate a man after a West Eugene lawn mower business was vandalized and targeted for arson. On March 27th, a fire broke out at All Seasons Equipment in West Eugene. While no structures were affected, a shipping container and 45 riding mowers in crates were damaged. Video footage shows a man with graying beard in dark clothes, blue cap, and sneakers on the premises. “He was cutting battery cables in the lot,” says All Seasons owner Jon Cowley. “He was also stealing small things. Our neighbor next to us has a landscape company and he stole a reel of copper wire from them. And he stole some small tools from us, miscellaneous items.” ....
The fire that engulfed and destroyed 45 new lawn mowers at the All Seasons Equipment store in west Eugene is being investigated as a suspected arson case, according to Eugene police. The fire started in the storage lot of All Seasons on the evening of March 27 and led to smoke towering over the store that was visible for miles around. It ended up damaging 45 new lawn mowers and one tractor, most of which were totaled, All Seasons owner Jon Cowley said Tuesday. An initial investigation by the fire marshal found that someone started it intentionally, according to Eugene police detective Chris White, but he declined to say what led to that determination. ....
