JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Biopharmaceutical company Pfizer has administered its first COVID-19 booster shots.
It’s a third dose Americans could take yearly like the flu shot to prevent contracting new strains of the coronavirus.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A vaccine trial beginning Monday is possibly one step closer to a COVID-19 vaccine for children.
The Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research began the trial with Novavax, which includes children ages 12 to 17 years old.
Both Kelli Votaw and her 15-year-old daughter Grace Barmad are participating in trials for the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla A new COVID-19 vaccine trial begins this week in Jacksonville. Novavax vaccine trial is enrolling teens ages 12 to 17. 
More than 30% of Americans have rolled up their sleeve and gotten a vaccine, but there hasn’t been an option yet for kids. This trial could change that.

A vaccine trial for children begins Monday in Jacksonville.
Jacksonville Center for Clinical Research begins the trial with Maryland-based company Novavax. The trial will involve children 12 to 17 years old. Researchers hope they will be able to enroll six to 11-year-olds in the summer.
In March, Novavax announced its phase three clinical trial in the UK was overall about 90 percent effective. The Novavax vaccine works differently than the vaccines available. It uses a spike protein to cause an immune system response and create antibodies.| Read more
