A man who drowned while celebrating his birthday with friends at a beauty spot died through misadventure, a coroner has concluded.
Kristers Bednarskis, 22, from Peterborough, went to Bawsey Country Park in Norfolk on 8 August with his girlfriend and friends.
The pair blew up a camping mattress to float out on the water-filled quarry, but Mr Bednarskis got into difficulty.
Norfolk senior coroner Jacqueline Lake offered her sympathy to his family.
Ms Lake told the inquest, held remotely, there were various signs warning people to keep out of the water, not to swim and of the dangers of cold water. ....

Motorcycles will have to be fitted with extra safety measures before they can be ridden during track days at a Norfolk race circuit.
It follows the death of a 70-year-old rider after a collision which happened at Snetterton Circuit.
Retired businessman Barry Pritchard from Attleborough, was riding at the South Norfolk track on June 16, 2020, an inquest before a jury in Norwich heard.
Senior coroner Jacqueline Lake said as he approached the second corner, his motorcycle cartwheeled through the air, Mr Pritchard was thrown from the machine and died from injuries he sustained. ....

A fire risk assessment at the home of a vulnerable 49-year-old woman was cancelled without being rearranged weeks before she died in a blaze at the house.
The visit to Rachel Wright s home in Downham Market on February 24, 2020, could not go ahead because she was in hospital, an inquest heard on Wednesday.
Mrs Wright was found dead after a fire at the property, on Rosemary Way, on April 8. A post mortem examination revealed she died from inhaling fumes. ....

A 30-year-old man died at home, an inquest has heard.
Robert Delaney, 30, died at his home address in Francis Road, Long Stratton on January 20.
At an inquest opened into his death, held at Norfolk Coroner s Court on February 3, Jacqueline Lake, senior coroner for Norfolk said Mr Delaney had been born in Ireland.
His cause of death was given as hanging.
The inquest has been adjourned for a further hearing on July 14.

Holme Hale man died of heroin overdose

A Holme Hale resident died from a heroin overdose, his inquest heard today.
Brian Martin Burdett, 60, a builder of Red Lion Close, was found dead on August 19, 2020, after a neighbour had noticed his door had been open since the previous day.
The neighbour had gone in and found Mr Burdett unresponsive in the kitchen. Police said there was no suspicious circumstances and Mr Burdett, who was a known drug user, had been found with drug paraphenalia.
