POCATELLO Three members of the Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25’s Board of Trustees will face a recall election on March 9 after enough valid signatures were obtained from voters.
Jackie Cranor of Zone 1, Janie Gebhardt of Zone 2 and Dave Mattson of Zone 5 are each in jeopardy of being removed from office after parents in their zones collected enough signatures demanding a recall election. ....

POCATELLO The Pocatello-Chubbuck School District will stick with a hybrid learning model and modified school schedules through February.
Trustees voted Tuesday to continue the instructional model aimed at adapting to COVID-19.
“The board will reconvene in mid-February to determine the course for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year,” district spokeswoman Courtney Fisher said after the meeting.
Tuesday’s decision keeps the district’s K-5 students in a “modified traditional instructional model,” which groups learners in cohorts to receive face-to-face instruction five days a week. Secondary students participate in a hybrid learning model, with two days per week devoted to in-person instruction and three days of remote learning. ....

POCATELLO Three trustees in the Pocatello-Chubbuck School District have until Thursday to resign or face a recall election next year.
Bannock County officials last week certified patron petitions to recall trustees Dave Mattson, Jackie Cranor and Janie Gebhardt over their handling of recent issues, county elections administrator Julie Hancock told EdNews.
Unless the trustees resign by Dec. 17, they will face potential recall in an upcoming election, likely on March 9, Hancock said Tuesday. “We plan to discuss (a timeframe) this afternoon.” ....

POCATELLO â Three members of the Pocatello-Chubbuck School District 25 Board of Trustees have until Dec. 17 to voluntarily resign or be subject to a recall election after the Bannock County Elections office certified signed recall petitions against them on Thursday.
School District 25 Board of Trustees Chairman Dave Mattson as well as Jackie Cranor and Janie Gebhardt are the three embattled school board members a group of concerned parents who started the recall process have asked to voluntarily resign.
âWe are happy that the work and effort of our group has proven to be fruitful, yet we are disappointed that the board has led us to this point,â said Jesse Ward, one of several parents involved with the group leading the recall effort. âWe are disappointed in the leadership found at the highest levels in our district and we will now pursue the call to these board members that they respectfully resign from these positions.
