Hyundai drivers Max Hart and Lewis Kent took a win apiece as the new Touring Car Trophy incorporating TCR UK season kicked off at Silverstone.
Having qualified on pole by less than a tenth of a second, Hart made the ideal start to the opening race in his new Hyundai i30 N TCR, with champion Lewis Kent jumping brother Bradley off the line to run second going into turn one.
The younger Kent would then be forced off track and dropped out of the race, meaning he joined Andy Wilmot on the sidelines after he suffered technical woes with the DW Racing Vauxhall Astra previously raced by Darelle Wilson. ....

Defending champion Henry Neal withdraws from Touring Car Trophy

Defending champion Henry Neal has announced his withdrawal from the Touring Car Trophy incorporating TCR UK ahead of the season opener this weekend at Silverstone.
Neal was due to defend the title in his Team Dynamics-run Honda Civic Type R but has now pulled his entry citing a new opportunity that has arisen later in the year.
The decision to withdraw means a 15 car entry is set to do battle in the opening round, with twelve TCR UK entries joined by three NGTC-spec cars entered by Team HARD.
“After much consideration we have sadly pulled out of the Goodyear Touring Car Trophy for this year,” Neal said. “A new fresh opportunity has recently come about for us at the end of the year, which will be announced at some point over the next few months. We sadly can’t justify doing both and this new opportunity is just too good to miss out on. ....

Power Maxed Racing has announced the signing of Jac Constable as BTCC development driver for the 2021 season.
Constable was due to race with the team at Croft last season before falling ill with appendicitis, but will now retain an involvement with the Vauxhall squad through his new role.
Whilst he will undertake a race programme in TCR UK in one of Power Maxed’s Leon Cupras, Constable will also work with the team on development of the BTCC Astra and will take part in a series of tests across the campaign. ....
