Selling out its two-week preview season in 2020, Paradise is touted as a showcase for Rajan’s talents, with a solo performance channelling seven characters. As with other Indian Ink productions, audiences can expect exquisite puppetry, the use of masks, inspired sound design, and comic originality. Rajan has cemented himself as one of New Zealand’s finest thespians. He was made a Member of the NZ Order of Merit in 2013 for his services to theatre, and in 2002 he received the prestigious Arts Foundation Laureate. He won the prestigious Fringe First Award in Edinburgh with Indian Ink’s first play Krishnan’s Dairy back in 1997, and has since charmed audiences the world over with the one-man play – a feat he aims to repeat when he shortly takes ....
