I think I’ve mentioned I’ve seen a wolf in the wild just once.  It was very shy and went charging away as soon as it spotted me.  I’ve also mentioned I used to take my daughter and niece to a zoo where there was a pack of red wolves.  You could watch them from inside an observation bunker through large windows.  They had been acclimated to people staring at them through glass and ignored the viewers.  They did typical canine things, which is to say the played and slept.  A lot with the latter.
The environmentalists don’t experience the financial loss.  If I came to your business and punctured the tires on your delivery truck, you wouldn’t be pleased. ....

Washington Monument Closed After Visit From Interior Secretary Who's Positive For COVID-19

The National Park Service temporarily closed the Washington Monument on Friday after a recent visit by Interior Secretary David L. Bernhardt, who tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday.

Bernhardt, a Colorado native, visited the iconic District of Columbia monument recently, Interior Department spokesman Nicholas Goodwin said in an email.
Employees who came into contact with the secretary had to quarantine, leaving too few to safely operate the site. Tourists normally ride an elevator to the observation deck 500 feet up, where they can enjoy views for miles.

Out of an abundance of caution, a couple of employees have quarantined resulting in a temporary workforce reduction at the monument and its temporary closure, Goodwin wrote. ....

New Mexico's Rep. Debra Haaland In Contention To Head Interior Department

President-elect Joe Biden is considering U.S. Rep. Debra A. Haaland to lead the Interior Department, a choice that would put the nation s first Native American Cabinet secretary in charge of the department that oversees most federal-tribal relations.

An individual close to Haaland, a New Mexico Democrat first elected to the House in 2018, said Wednesday that she is in the running for the position.
The congresswoman is still in consideration for the post, that person told States Newsroom, speaking on background. Conversations are still ongoing between the two teams.
