Huis ten Boschin rakentaminen aloitettiin 1600-luvulla. Tältä ajalta on linnassa yhä nähtävissä muun muassa hollantilaista maalaustaidetta.
Rakennus on toiminut 1800-luvun alussa maan kansallisgalleriana. Kuningas Vilhelm I teki vuonna 1815 siitä hallitsijan virka-asunnon. Toisessa maailmansodassa palatsi oli tuhoutua natsihallinnon käsissä, mutta 1950-luvulla se kunnostettiin entiseen loistoonsa ja otettiin kuninkaallisen Orania-Nassau-perheen kodiksi.
Ennen kuin Willem-Alexanderin ja Maximan perhe pääsi muuttamaan Huis ten Boschiin, tehtiin palatsissa laaja remontti.
Perheen ruokasali on lähes  alkuperäisessä kuosissa ja on pitkälti rokokoo-tyylinen.
 
Kolme vuotta kestäneissä kunnostustöissä kului muun muassa 1 300 neliötä mattoa, 695 neliötä puulattiaa, 773 neliötä marmoria, 154 uutta patteria ja 3 835 metriä keskuslämmitysputkea. Remontin hinnaksi tuli yli 63 miljoonaa euroa. Palatsissa on kaikkiaan 8 785 asuinneliötä ja maap ....

While International Women’s Day is on Monday (March 8) and March is Women’s History Month, those occasions coincide with a centuries-old celebration in Japan dedicated to girls.
Hinamatsuri, or Girl’s Day (also known as Doll’s Day), is held on March 3 that dates back to the 1600s in which dolls were displayed to honour the Japanese royal family.
This seasonal festival involves parties and celebrations that girls traditionally participate in. (Its counterpart on May 5 was formerly known as Boys’ Day, but was changed to Children’s Day in the 1940s so that girls could participate.) ....
