Biografi Alphonse Mingana
Alphonse Mingana adalah seorang teolog, sejarahwan, Syiriacist, orientalis, dan seorang mantan pendeta yang terkenal karena mengumpulkan dan melestarikan Koleksi Mingana dari manuskrip kuno Timur Tengah di Birmingham. Alphonse Mingana (lahir sebagai Hurmiz Mingana) pada 23 Desember 1878 di Sharanesh, sebuah desa dekat Zakho (sekarang Irak) dan meninggal pada 5 Desember 1937 di Birmingham, Inggris. Seperti mayoritas orang Kasdim di Zakho, keluarganya adalah anggota Gereja Katolik Kasdim. Alphonse Mingana lahir dari pasangan Paolus dan Maryam Nano, serta memiliki tujuh saudara kandung.[1] Alphonse Mingana lahir sebagai Hurmiz Mingana, tetapi mengubah namanya setelah menjadi pendeta Kasdim.[2]
Pada tahun 1891, Mingana bergabung dengan Seminari St. John di Mosul di mana ia belajar bahasa Syiria di bawah bimbingan Awgen Manna dan kemudian menggantikannya. Mingana terus mengajar di sana sampai tahun 1908.[3] Pada tahun 1913, Min ....
