Progressives aren’t just boiling mad at Sen. Dianne Feinstein (again). Some want the senator, who has been in office since 1992, to resign.
They’re frustrated that Feinstein continues to balk at killing the filibuster to pass a voting rights bill. But even more so, they’re baffled that she said she doesn’t think democracy is in jeopardy.
“If democracy were in jeopardy, I would want to protect it,” Feinstein recently told Forbes. “I don’t see it being in jeopardy right now.”
MILTON â Milton residents will soon fill out ballots for four municipal races.
Voters will be able to elect a mayor, City Council and recorder, as well as vote on an amendment that would change the date of future town elections.
Election Day for the town is May 4, but early voting is April 21 through May 1. Early voters can go to Milton City Hall between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays to cast ballots. To request an absentee ballot, contact City Hall for an application and return it to get a ballot. In-person voters must follow COVID-19 protection protocols, such as wearing a mask and practicing social distancing.

Coming out of Black History Month into Women’s History Month, I am struck by the feebleness of trying to squeeze the entirety of any group’s history into one month. Each of the groups with the distinction of having a “month” to tell its stories has been actively engaged in creating history for millennia. The othering associated with having students learn “regular” history and culture with some time allotted for “other” people’s history and culture only serves to reinforce White supremacy and the patriarchy.
Whether it was service throughout her more than 30-year career in the military or through her many community involvements, retired Lt. Col. Terry Owens always has emphasized care for others.
A newly elected member of the Radcliff City Council, Owens has been active in several community organizations since moving to the Fort Knox area in 2007.
Originally from Newport News, Virginia, Owens earned a bachelorâs degree in biology in 1987 and a masterâs degree in elementary education in 1990 from Hampton University. Also in 1987, Owens joined the U.S. Army Reserves as a combat medic in the 18th Field Hospital in Norfolk, a decision that foreshadowed a long career in military leadership.
