Buba Marwa Appoints Sarat Braimah, NIWA Lagos Boss, as NDLEA Ambassador

Sarat Lara Braimah, Lagos Area Manager of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has been appointed as Ambassador of War Against Drug Abuse, by the Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General, Buba Marwa (Rtd).
At the official letter of appointment presentation held at NIWA Lagos office at CMS, Marina, the NDLEA boss stated that Braimah was so appointed in tandem with President Muhammadu Buhari’s inaugural address, commemorating the 2O21 United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, a war which must be fought by well-meaning citizens.
According to General Marwa, Braimah was expected to synergise and collaborate with NDLEA in propagating the war against drug abuse and illicit trafficking through her official and private engagement as responsible and top notch officer of government. ....

Alleged plot to sell Police Officers' Mess in Lagos angers IGP

Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, in a statement on Monday, accused “mischief authors” of concocting lies.
He said the Mess was built to cater for the welfare of Police officers, serve as transit accommodation for personnel on transfer or on special assignments and provide a social environment for their relaxation.
Mba noted that over time, the property has degenerated and shown structural defects requiring a massive renovation or outright rebuilding.
The spokesman said to restore its lost glory, the IGP and the Management Team took a decision to upgrade it “to a world-class edifice”.
Mba disclosed that the renovation will include the development of a world-class three-star hotel, office spaces for lease, and a shopping complex. ....

Abdallah to Marwa: How Buhari appointed new NDLEA chairman

The retired Brigadier General succeeded Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah, a retired colonel.
The tenure of Abdallah, who was appointed on January 12, 2016, expired on January 11, 2021.
But President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to deny him a second tenure is being debated.
Since May 2015, the President has granted many heads of departments and agencies a second term, likewise a number of Federal Executive Council (FEC) members, as well as military and paramilitary chiefs.
A source told DAILY POST that the NDLEA recruitment exercise might have cost Abdallah another tenure.
The citizen close to the authorities said the presidency and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, were displeased with how the former chairman handled it. ....
