In a statement on Tuesday, April 13, the DOH and NTF said over the next two weeks it will continue to monitor and work with the local government units (LGUs) to reach specific targets to address the increasing cases and hospital occupancies.
The DOH and NTF have also committed to reduce the duration of infectiousness of cases through increased contact tracing efficiency and strengthened active case finding through testing at the community level, which they said can help “reduce new infections.”
Contact Tracing Czar Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology will also further support contact tracing efforts through supplementation of around 27,672 contact tracers in the NCR+ bubble, and by putting in place an automatic contact tracing system using text messaging (SMS). ....

Vaccine rollout in manila a success though spike in COVID cases alarming

Mayor Isko Moreno
First, the good news. Manila led the way in the formal vaccination roll out of the first batch of the anti-COVID-19 vaccines that arrived in the country.  It was held at the Philippine General Hospital, where PGH Director Gap Legaspi himself became the first recipient of the Coronavac made and donated by China’s Sinovac
Biotech.
Later during the day, Manila was fortunate enough to receive 3,000 Coronavac vaccines from the national government and for this, we profusely thank President Rodrigo Duterte, National Task Force (NTF) Deputy Chief Implementer and Testing Czar Vince Dizon, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez, Jr.,  Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and the DOH family for being highly instrumental in the donation of vaccines given to the city. ....

Pangilinan: Senate hearing to clarify plan, deliverables in govt vaccination program
SENATOR Francis Kiko Pangilinan on Sunday said the scheduled Monday Senate Committee of the Whole hearing intends to clarify the government vaccination plan and deliverables.
Ang layunin ng Senate Committee of the Whole ay para mapag-usapan at maipaalam sa publiko ang buong plano ng gobyerno sa pagpapabakunaha ng mga Pilipino, said Pangilinan, who on December 14 filed Senate Resolution 594 asking the Senate Committee of the Whole to look into the government national Covid-19 vaccination program.
