Representative image According to official of Nani Moldi police station, they had raided a house owned by Lala Mundhva in Mevasa village on Monday evening and arrested Gamara, Mukesh Kotak (60), Sattar Habib Kotaliya (45), Nilesh Mundhva (24), Imran Kalva (35) and Alpesh Dodia (39) all residents of Rajkot city. All those arrested were brought to Nani Moldi police station for further investigation. Police also seized Rs 3.56 lakh cash, one car and a mobile phone from the accused. “However, after we reached the police station, Gamara, Kotak and Kotaliya complained of uneasiness and were taken to a government hospital in Chotila town. But Gamara died before he reached the hospital,” said a police official.

Police said that Ramji Sakalia (55), who owns a provision store in Kheradi village, and his two daughters-in-laws Bharati (33) and 30-year-old Jagu, who is pregnant, were under treatment at Rajkot civil hospital. According to the complaint filed by Ramji, at around 7pm on Monday Jayraj Dhandhal came to his provision store and started abusing someone over the phone. Ramji asked Dhandhal not to use such foul language as his house was adjacent to the shop and there were women inside.

Rajkot: Surendranagar district police arrested three persons within hours of the death of an assault victim in Ahmedabad hospital on Sunday. The victim Mavji Gangadia (35), a resident of Jinjuda village in Chotila taluka of Surendranagar, was under treatment since May 31 following an assault by Dhama Khachar, Ravu Kathi and Lala Kathi over personal animosity. After the assault, Mavji, a farm labourer, was taken to the primary health centre in Chotila and then referred to Rajkot Civil Hospital. But as his condition did not improve, Mavji was shifted to a hospital in Ahmedabad where he succumbed to injuries. Police said that Mavji was survived by his wife and five children including three daughters.
