They are currently testing out how the bottle will perform and hold up with contents, how refrigeration would affect the product, along with reaction from consumers. Sustainable products and packaging that is better for the environment has been a goal of many manufacturers, however, this would be the first of its kind for a major company. The bottle will include a plastic closure and a thin plastic liner but still be completely recyclable. ....

Image Credit: ADOBE STOCK February 19, 2021 - 12:00 PM The cost of your carbonated beverage of choice is going to get a bit pricier in B.C. this spring as the government begins applying the provincial sales tax to soda. A provincial sales tax notice issued recently to retailers by the Ministry of Finance says soda beverages will no longer qualify for the exemption for food products and PST will apply to all retail sales of soda beverages at a rate of seven per cent as of April 1. The change is no April Fool’s joke as retailers will be expected to break down food and drink combo specials and remit the tax on the beverage portion of the deal. ....

Back in 2006, Coca-Cola launched Coca-Cola Blak, a coffee-flavored version of its classic soda. The beverage flopped, and Coke stopped selling the product just two years after it launched. Coca-Cola With Coffee, which has already been sold in international markets like Japan, Brazil, Turkey and Italy, contains more real coffee than Blak did. The product is also more caffeinated than regular Coke and features 69 milligrams of caffeine per 12-ounce can. ....
