The appointment of Marco Silva means Fulham can finally put the Scott Parker saga behind them.
Promotion back to the Premier League is the target for the coming season and Silva is the coach Fulham believe can make it happen. The 43-year-old has been out of the game for more than 18 months after being sacked by Everton but he is back, willing to take on the challenge of restoring Fulham’s top-flight status.
His appointment has restored some much-needed optimism before the new campaign, not least because Fulham hero Luis Boa Morte, a long-time friend of Silva’s, has joined him in the dugout.
