PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz has called for a specific strategy to track missed children in high-risk districts to help ensure polio vaccination to all target children under the age of five.
He said this while addressing the Provincial Task Force meeting on Polio Eradication here Tuesday.

PESHAWAR: Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan has directed the provincial health and prison authorities to fill vacant posts of doctors in all prisons across the province and establish minor surgical units there to carry out emergency operations.
Chairing the seventh Provincial Justice Committee meeting here, the chief justice called for the establishment of the observation home and juvenile rehabilitation centres in all districts in line with the Juvenile Justice Act, 2018.

PESHAWAR: The Indian and South African variants of the novel coronavirus have been detected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial health department confirmed Friday.
According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Secretary Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, the Indian variant of the coronavirus was confirmed in a patient. Meanwhile, two patients who tested positive for the virus were found to be infected with the South African variant.
Shah said that all three patients had arrived in Pakistan from the United Arab Emirates a few days ago.
“All three infected patients are residents of Peshawar,” Shah said, adding that the samples of 12 more patients had been sent to Islamabad for testing.
