Q1: Dear sir, after O-Levels and Intermediate I am now thinking to do LLB. Few UK-based institutions are offering three-year LLB programme but I am confused as most of the institutions in Pakistan.

I do not want to do it anymore as I don’t have interest in this subject. Therefore, sir, please guide me what should I do, should I continue with this or change the field? Ans: Dear Mr Raja, I think this is a very important and popular subject. Your chosen subject has very much potential not only in Pakistan but also in foreign countries especially Western world too. I don’t see any reason why you can’t successfully complete your degree in Disaster Management and still be an anchorperson keeping in view the intelligence that you would be equipped with due to this degree. My recommendation is that right now you continue this degree.

If you have an aptitude and interest in Islamic Studies and wish to have deeper understanding of Islamic Ideology; then this Bachelors degree will serve as a base to you. However, you should only do this if you are prepared to do further research or PhD to find a more established and recognised long-term career.

I request you to please advise me if I can take admission without test of additional math and which universities are offering this programme in Lahore? (Attiya Kausar, Faisalabad)
Ans: Dear Miss Attiya, please note that many private institutions in Lahore offer IT at bachelor’s level with different titles of BBA-IT and BS-IT. However, it all depends on your objectives keeping in view a specific career. Information Technology has a very wide scope and career prospects and I don’t think so, it requires too intensive Mathematics. If you are interested in getting into a public sector university, I suggest you contact them directly for better advice. It all depends on a number of factors especially, the location of your house and the proximity that you require etc.
