Up until late this morning, a piece on celebrations and protests on January 26 was headlined Australia Day/Invasion Day 2021 events , sparking upset among some Coalition MPs and conservative commentators.

Advocates for migrant and refugee women have called for caution amid a push to criminalise coercive control in domestic relationships, warning it could lead to more harm within vulnerable communities.

Calls for Advance Australia Fair to be replaced with a new anthem

Latrell Mitchell has thrown his support behind a new version of Advance Australia Fair with lyrics that better reflect the nation s indigenous cultures.
The song was performed by Aboriginal performer Kutcha Edward during a live theatre production in 2013 but has gained popularity after a video of the performance was shared by Indigenous fashion label Clothing The Gap on Monday.
