Gunman who shot man during drug deal in Lancaster city sentenced to prison: DA


A Lancaster city man who was convicted of charges in connection with a city shooting in Feb. 2019 was sentenced to at least 16-and-a-half years in state prison Monday, according to Lancaster County District Attorney s office.
That sentence, combined with other charges filed after the shooting, could mean Chappell Williams could spend up to 33 years behind bars.
Williams, 42, was sentenced to nine to 18 years in prison for aggravated assault, firearms carried without a license and person not to possess a firearm for the shooting which seriously injured another man, the district attorney s office said.
In Feb. 2019, Williams shot another person during a drug deal for marijuana, the district attorney s office said. Williams got into the back seat of the victim s vehicle for the transaction and then shot the man in the chest and leg when he went to get the marijuana.  ....

33-year sentence handed down in Lancaster shooting

A Lancaster man is facing up to 33 years behind bars for two convictions related to a shooting in the city.
According to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, Chappell Williams, 42, was found guilty on charges related to a drug-deal shooting on the 800 block of Chestnut Street.
Lancaster County Judge Thomas Sponaugle sentenced Williams Monday to 9 to 18 years in state prison on charges of aggravated assault, firearms not to be carried without a license and persons not to possess firearms.
Investigators say the shooting occurred in February 2019 when Williams got into the back seat of a car to buy marijuana, and during the transaction, shot the person he was buying it from in the chest and leg, causing serious injury. ....

If there’s one thing President Joe Biden can do in his first 100 days to help the nation’s economy it’s this: get the COVID-19 pandemic under control. That’s the consensus of three panelists who participated in the “Business Impact: First 100 Days” webinar hosted by Central Penn Business Journal and Lehigh Valley Business.
