The railings will be installed for the safety of
pedestrians and to create a barrier between the road and the footpath.
According to an official, it was observed that during peak hours many bikers ride over the footpath rashly and risk the lives of pedestrians. The bikers encroach on the footpaths to avoid traffic. The railings would prevent the vehicles from encroaching on footpaths. Also, in cases of accidents, these barriers will help to slow down the speed of rampaging vehicles.
