Senior Sam Orf led the charge with 22 points. Strong 3-point shooting from Seth Swalve (3-5) and Riley Webster (4-5) helped keep UAH ahead. Swalve also played a team-high 37 minutes. After the final buzzer, things got a little heated on the court. It is not clear what led to the extracurricular activities. ....
Lee Men Fall In NCAA Tournament Monday, March 15, 2021 The third-seeded Lee men s basketball team saw its historic 2020-21 season come to an end on Sunday night in the Round of 32 of the NCAA Tournament falling to Gulf South Conference rival and No. 2 seed Alabama Huntsville, 73-66. The Chargers jumped out to an early 18-point lead before the Flames used a 15-4 run over the last 4:32 of the half to cut the deficit to seven at the intermission, 35-28. The second half saw a few runs by Lee as GSC East Player of the Year, Quay Kennedy drilled a 3-pointer with 14:59 left to make it a five-point game. That s the closest the Flames would get however as UAH would never relinquish the lead as it advances to the Sweet 16 and the South Region Final on Tuesday against top-seeded Flagler. ....
Lee Men Fall In Gulf South Semifinals Saturday, March 6, 2021 The No. 23 Lee men s basketball team dropped a rugged, defensive battle, 54-52 to the top-seeded and No. 11-ranked Alabama Huntsville Chargers on Friday evening in the Gulf South Conference Semifinals. The Flames had a look at a 3-pointer at the buzzer to win it but Michael McGuirk s shot hit just off the iron. Jayce Willingham gave Lee a 50-48 advantage with 2:26 left but UAH would regain the lead for good on a Max Shulman layup with 1:24 remaining. Lee had the ball down one 51-50 coming out of a timeout with 22 ticks left on the clock when Sam Orf made the play that sealed the game as he jumped the passing lane to come up with a crucial steal. ....
