COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The Town of Pine Ridge has announced that Andreâ T. Williams has been selected as the new police chief.
Chief Williams will be officially sworn on Tuesday, April 13 during a town hall meeting. Due to CDC guidelines on social distancing, there will be limited seating available.
Williams is a native of the Jonesville community located in Colleton County. In 2011, Williams graduated from Claflin University with a BA degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology. He later went on to serve in the United States Army and Army National Guard. ....

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools district leaders said the district moved to full remote learning Thursday.
The district places the safety of our students, staff and schools at the forefront and will take all precautions to keep everyone safe, district leaders said in a statement.

In a statement to WCNC Charlotte, Iredell-Statesville Schools said it operated on a normal schedule Thursday and monitored the conditions to keep parents and students updated.

At a Special Called Board Meeting on June 3, 2020, the Clarendon Four Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Dr. Angela Bain as Interim Superintendent for the 2020-2021 school year. Dr. Bain’s official start date is July 1, 2020. She will spearhead the development of the new district that will open on July 1, 2021.
Dr. Angela Bain began her career in education in 1980, as a teacher. After almost 40 years in education, she is currently the Superintendent for the Chester County School District. Before becoming Superintendent, she was one of the Deputy State Superintendents of Education at the South Carolina Department of Education. Her goal is making connections and bringing people together on behalf of the children in our state. She truly believes in preparing our students for college and careers. ....
