Manufactured in 1972 and coming with 93,000 original miles (149,668 kilometers), this California car has been sitting for no less than 35 years before the current Craigslist seller found it and decided to take it home.
The good news is the garage it was parked in wasn’t the worst place for a car to spend over three decades, so it comes with only minimal rust that shouldn’t be a nightmare to restore.

The ’69 Chevelle was part of the second-generation series, available for the 1968 through 1972 model years and offered with a wide range of engines, including two straight-six units and a total of eight different V8s. The top choice was the 454 (7.4-liter) big-block that debuted in 1970 on the SS.

However, the Chevelle that we have here isn’t an SS (despite having the emblems) but still comes with a big engine under the hood, though it’s something more surprising than the original 454.
Power now comes from an LS1 5.7-liter Corvette engine, as a previous owner performed a restomod that’s certainly worth checking out. The LS1 is mated to a new 4L60E automatic transmission, and we’re told the car “ ....

Produced until 1972, the new Chevelle was available with both straight-six engines and big-block V8s, with a 454ci (7.4-liter) also installed on the popular 1970 Chevelle SS.
The Chevelle you’re looking at here, however, is a ’68 example powered by a 307ci (5.0-liter) engine, and the best of all is that it’s the original engine Chevrolet installed 53 years ago when the car left the factory.
The engine isn’t the only original part coming on this Chevelle, and there’s more good news in this regard. The air conditioning system, the power steering, and the power brakes are all there, all original, all working. eBay seller moparhunter71 claims the car is currently at its second owner after it was purchased by a woman who drove it on a daily basis. ....

While a first-generation Chevrolet Chevelle built in the United States isn’t necessarily a rare find these days, not the same thing can be said about the Canadian version, which was assembled at the facilities in Oshawa, Ontario, and Sainte-Thérèse, Québec.

As far as the ’66 Chevelle SS is concerned, it was sold in Canada as Malibu SS, coming in pretty much the same configuration (both powertrain and equipment) as it non-SS sibling built in America.
Needless to say, not a lot of Chevelle SS models were assembled in Canada, and the seller of the example we have here claims only a little over 5,000 units actually got to see the daylight. ....
