The Derek Chauvin Verdict Is Just the Beginning - American Renaissance

The Derek Chauvin Verdict Is Just the Beginning
Robert Hampton, American Renaissance, May 4, 2021
Everyone from Joe Biden on down celebrated Derek Chauvin’s guilty verdict. The President claimed it was a “giant step forward in the march toward justice in America.” “It was a murder in the full light of day. And it ripped the blinders off for the whole world to see the systemic racism,” he said. He moaned about “the knee on the neck of justice for black Americans, the profound fear and trauma, the pain, the exhaustion that black and brown Americans experience every single day.”
He wants Congress to pass a police reform bill named for George Floyd and the Senate to confirm more police-haters for the Department of Justice. ....

Hannah Glidden Myrick
Hannah Glidden Myrick was among the small number of women who graduated from medical school by the turn of the 20th century. Her path to The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine was not an easy one, starting with her early education at Boston’s Boys Latin School after being granted a rare exception as a female student. Bamboozled by Line Of Duty? All that AFO, ARU and UCO gobbledegook? Try sitting thought the IDC (International Development Committee) rabbiting on all morning. It d make your brain bubble.
For two hours yesterday, the committee grilled Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab. For large swathes of their session, Raab and the committee may as well have been speaking in tongues. So many abbreviations were tossed around, it felt like being assaulted by the creators of Scrabble.
Some of the acronyms I was familiar with, others I had to look up. Several, I m almost embarrassed to admit, remain unsolved mysteries. A SETO anyone? An MDC? How about a DHC? Answers on a postcard to the usual address. ....

He pulled down the straps of her tank top with his teeth and bit her neck..Afterwards, she pretended it didn’t happen : a short story by Auckland writer Leanne Radojkovich.

He’s dead, Patsy thought and squatted beside him. “Don’t touch him,” a man wearing a face mask ran over the road. The boy groaned and foam trickled out of his mouth. She sat back. “Ring 111,” the man said as he dragged off his jacket and laid it across the boy’s chest. She was shaking and couldn’t tap in the numbers. He pulled out his phone and dialled. A dog rounded the corner and sniffed the boy’s shoulder, Patsy shoved it away. “Help’s on the ....
