Fleetwood inducts 7 into National Business Honor Society

Seven students at Fleetwood High School have recently been inducted into the National Business Honor Society. The students inducted were juniors Celeste Cook, Julia Kaskey, Maegan Mileshosky, Abby Warren and seniors Alison Mountz, Jeffrey Davenport, and Abigail Kile. The National Business Honor Society is designed to recognize those members of FBLA who truly excel in academic preparation and are pursuing a career in the business world. As a true business leader, students need to be well prepared in terms of their academics, career skills, and leadership development. - Advertisement - In order to qualify for membership in this prestigious organization, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.5, a 3.5 GPA in a minimum of two business courses, demonstrate their leadership by participating in local FBLA chapter sponsored activities, complete an application, and submit an essay.

Technology is a wondrous thing. All of us have experienced how it can do the heavy lifting to make our lives simpler, easier and more enjoyable. Yet, if left unbridled, advances in technology have the potential to outstrip the benefits and create negative consequences that might be felt years — or even generations — from now. Case in point: The proliferation of trail cameras used to take or aid in the taking of wildlife. The Arizona Game and Fish Commission, which is entrusted with establishing policy for the management, preservation and harvest of wildlife, voted unanimously at a meeting Dec. 4 in Payson to open the proposed rule-making and begin the public process for potential future regulation of passive trail cameras used for the take of wildlife.

PHOENIX (KVOA) – Arizona Game & Fish Commission changes rules and regulations often; this one is in regards to trail cameras. But, they re asking for your input prior to making the change. Right now in Arizona, you are allowed to have trail cameras both with the purpose of taking wildlife and for general photography, research or cattle operations. In the future, they might be changing that first one mentioned. The commission is proposing to amend their rule to where you cannot have a trail camera solely for the purpose of taking wildlife. And, if you don t agree or if you very much do agree, they re asking for you to speak up and comment.

Public comments about the proposed rulemaking can be submitted from Jan. 1 through Feb. 1, 2021, via either: Email: rulemaking@azgfd.gov U.S. Mail: Arizona Game and Fish Department, Attn: Celeste Cook, Rules and Policy Manager, 5000 W. Carefree Hwy., Phoenix, AZ 85086. The final rule will be presented to the five-member commission for consideration at the March 19, 2021 commission meeting.
