The Extinction Rebellion protest
EXTINCTION Rebellion, which protested at the national Remembrance service by unfurling a climate change banner have been condemned by Dorset councillors.
Weymouth councillor Louie O’Leary, who brought the motion, said the group had disrespected those who gave their lives and had continued to break the law in the name of climate change.
He said that Dorset Council had worked with the group, locally, on the council’s climate policies, and that by being associated with them, brought the name of Dorset Council into disrespect.
Cllr Bill Trite said that the national group had ‘consistently’ broken the law and had disrespected those who gave their lives by their national protest. ....
