Chamber volunteer award renamed in memory of Cheryl Blackman

The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes a community member for service.
This year, the chamber debuts that recognition as the Cheryl Blackman Volunteer of the Year Award in honor of the late Blackman, who loved and served the resort area for 53 years before her passing Dec. 7, 2016.
As a central figure in Rehoboth Beach, Blackman’s infectious smile and genuine connection with the community will not be forgotten. While small in stature, she dedicated her life to making the world a better place. In addition to supporting the chamber of commerce, she volunteered and raised money for numerous causes including the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company, the Village Improvement Association, the Cordrey Charities, and her favorite organization, KINFolk. ....
