Boys Hoops: Bronson lose at home to Centreville

Coldwater, MI, USA / WTVB | 1590 AM · 95.5 FM | The Voice of Branch County Feb 16, 2021 4:26 AM BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Centreville Bulldogs outscored the Bronson Vikings 22-6 over the final five minutes on Monday night as they pulled away to a 72-55 victory over the Vikings. Bronson got off to a fast start and grabbed a 17-10 lead after the first quarter. The Bulldogs used a 16-10 second quarter to pull to within 27-26 at halftime and led 48-44 at the three quarter mark. The Vikings only trailed 50-49 before the Bulldogs went on their big spurt in the final five minutes. Aden Hathaway led Bronson with 17 points which included five three-point buckets. Mason Harris had 16 points and eight rebounds. Blaine Robinson and Reagan Mayer both had four assists. Robinson also had four steals.

MSHAA 11-person football finals this weekend at Ford Field

(Image courtesy MHSAA) DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – The eight championship games in the M.H.S.A.A. 11-person football tournament take place this weekend at Ford Field in Detroit. The championship games are normally held during Thanksgiving weekend but they are taking place two months later than originally scheduled because of the pause in high school athletics that was ordered by the State of Michigan in November following a surge of COVID-19 cases. The undefeated Centreville Bulldogs will play in their first title game ever when they battle Ubly on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Division Eight finals. Centreville is 10-0 while Ubly is 9-2.
