Pakistan set to export mobiles in January 2022, says Razak - Newspaper


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will start exporting mobile phones in January 2022, Commerce Adviser Razak Dawood said on Tuesday.
In a testimony before the Senate Standing Committee on Commerce chaired by Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, the adviser said a Chinese company was setting up a mobile phone manufacturing factory in Karachi.

Dawn following the committee meeting, Mr Dawood said the production of mobile phones has already started in Pakistan. “I am now trying to convince the Chinese to start mobile phone exports from Pakistan. They [Chinese] started production last year and I had given them a target of December 2021. They have assured me that they will begin exports from January 2022 onward,” he added. ....

Lawan: Nigerians Free to Seek Amendment on any Section of Constitution

Nigerians are free to canvass for the amendment of any section of the 1999 constitution as the constitution review gets underway in the six geo-political zones next week, the President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan, has said.
Lawan stated this at Wednesday plenary in his remarks after reading a letter signed by the Chairman of the Senate Constitution Review Committee, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, to announce the chairmanship composition to oversee a two-day public hearing across the six geo-political zones on proposals to alter the provisions of the 1999 constitution.
According to him, the constitution review exercise would avail Nigerians the opportunity to make submissions on any issue of interest, adding that the National Assembly on its part, would prioritise such issues to enhance the welfare and security of citizens. ....
