Islamabad, April 28 : Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) would not be influenced to give relief to the disgruntled leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Jahangir Tareen, in the sugar scam probe but he would personally look into the matter to avoid any political victimisation in the case.
He was talking to a delegation of some pro-Tareen lawmakers who called on him. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar was also present in the meeting, the Dawn reported on Wednesday. ....

Lawmakers who support Jahangir Tareen met with Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday to share their grievances over an ongoing crackdown against the ruling PTI’s former secretary general but failed to convince the PM to form a judicial commission to probe into the allegations against Tareen.
A total of 28 PTI lawmakers – including both National Assembly members and provincial assembly members – called on the prime minister for “seeking justice” for the disgruntled PTI leader who is among the sugar mills owners facing Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) crackdown. ....

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday directed Senator Ali Zafar to review the reservations and concerns of the pro-Jahangir Khan Tareen legislators and compile a report on the issue.
Senator Ali Zafar has been asked to look into the reservations of the MNAs, who have complained that a deliberate or politically motivated attempt is being made to malign Tareen, and submit a report with the top leadership.
The prime minister said on Tuesday that he would not bow down to pressure with regards to the ongoing probe of the sugar commission. He said this in a meeting with a group of PTI members who have extended their support to party stalwart Jahangir Khan Tareen. ....
