Sophia Popov is one of 12 HSBC Women’s World Championship rookies, all making their first starts in the event dubbed Asia’s major. It’s one tournament Popov has been rearing to compete in and stems off her consistent play since winning the 2019 AIG Women’s Open.

“It s definitely been a very cool experience for me. I think I ve watched this tournament over the years and saw the other girls playing and I was never able to qualify for it,” said Popov. “I think that s one of the perks that came with winning the AIG Women s Open last year. I think that s just been kind of almost like a bonus week for me again just being able to enjoy being out here with the Top-70 girls right now and I m playing on-really really nice golf course.” ....

If there is one thing Jin Young Ko enjoys the most about returning to Singapore and the HSBC Women’s World Championship, it’s the food. And though she may be confined to her hotel for most of the week, Ko said she still finds a way to experience the local cuisine.
“I have friend in Singapore, so he delivered lots of food yesterday, lunch and dinner. I ate lots of dumplings, and I had chili crabs for dinner, so I m full still,” said Ko.
The World No. 1 is back in Singapore for the third time, looking to build upon her last two visits to Sentosa Golf Club. Ko notched a T6 finish in 2018 and a T3 result in 2019 and has never recorded a round higher than a 73 in those two events. As she readies for her sixth event of the 2021 season, Ko is coming off three consecutive t ....
