The observation was made in the bail orders of two men, Devi Lal Burdak and Swaroop Ram, who were booked in the same FIR on charges of sedition, spreading rumours, forgery, etc, for allegedly sharing fake videos on social media during the ongoing farmers’ protest.
The judge observed that “evidently, law proscribes any act which has a tendency to create disorder or disturbance of public peace by resort to violence.”

New Delhi [India], February 16 (ANI): Granting bail to two accused arrested by Delhi Police under sedition charges in connection with the ongoing farmers protest, a Delhi court on Tuesday said that law of sedition is a powerful tool in the hands of the state and cannot be invoked to quieten the disquiet under the pretence of muzzling miscreants.
Additional Session Judge Dharmender Rana on Monday (Feb 15) has granted bail to two accused, arrested by Delhi Police under Sedition charges for allegedly posting the sensational Facebook post in connection with the farmers protest.

Panchayats in western Uttar Pradesh continue to draw massive crowds.
On Sunday, the scene shifted to Baraut town of Baghpat district where a panchayat of different khaps was called in response to the eviction of elderly farmers from a sit-in protest on the Baraut-Saharanpur highway.
Appeal to farmers
Held after the emotional outburst of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait at the Ghazipur border, the panchayat saw the participation of Desh khap, Chuabisi khap, Chaugama khap and Thamba khap among others.
After the meeting, Desh khap head Surendra Chaudhary made an appeal to the farmers to move to Ghazipur border in turns.
