Light rail positions revealed as councillors have their say

'World's biggest' tattoo store lands on Coast | Sunshine Coast Daily

A famous tattoo company labelled one of the best in the world has landed on the Sunshine Coast.
Celebrity Ink will open for business at its new Sunshine Plaza location on Saturday morning and to celebrate the first 50 people through the doors will walk out with a free tattoo and $50 voucher.
Franchisee Talaylin Karavolas said the excitement had been building since the company first began work on opening the store in October last year.
After months of commuting to the Gold Coast for training, Ms Karavolas said she couldn t wait to open on Saturday.
But after previously franchising restaurants and Oporto s franchises in Sydney, opening a tattoo store has been a big change for Ms Karavolas. ....

Motorists have been urged to take care on Coast roads as several remain blocked off due to fallen trees and powerlines.
Sunshine Coast Council has asked residents to avoid:
Mary Street, Nambour - closed to all traffic with multiple power lines and trees down. Signage is in place to redirect motorists
Whites Road in Kunda Park and Vises Road at Forest Glen are heavily impacted, but passable with traffic control on-site
Cotton Tree Aquatic Centre - access road closed due to a large tree down blocking exit areas. Other roads affected: Nambour - Vernon Street, Elizabeth Street, Arundell Avenue ....

Wild storm sees a Kmart roof collapse forcing shoppers to be evacuated

Shoppers had to be evacuated when the roof of a Kmart store started to cave in as golf-ball sized hailstones and over 100,000 lightning strikes smashed parts of southeast Queensland overnight.
Footage uploaded to social media by one panicked shopper shows large sections of the ceiling collapsing at opposite ends of the Maroochydore store at Sunshine Plaza, with huge amounts of water gushing to the floor over exposed electrical wires.
Frightened customers are seen making their way out the discount chain at about 5:30pm on Wednesday, with one woman making a narrow escape.
