Beginning June 30, Springfield will conduct another crosswalk yield check, this one at Sunset and Grant.
Yield Checks have been done at nine different spots with an average rate of 46% drivers yielding.
During the check, three police officers will be at a designated crosswalk location for around four hours. One officer in plain clothing will act as a pedestrian, a second will be spotting and the third in a patrol car ready to stop those who do not properly yield to the pedestrian.
Drivers who commit blatant violations can be cited by police.

PITTSFIELD Water will be shut off near West Washington Street for roughly three hours tonight as crews replace a fire hydrant in the 1200 block beginning at 9:30 p.m.
That could result in water pressure being low or no water being available along Shetland Drive, Sunset Street, Lowry Street west of Landess Terrace, the Oakhill area and West Washington Street to the 800 block.
Water is expected to be restored within three hours.

When asked why the three were not named in the media release, the RNC said because the accused were not held, the information will be sworn in at provincial court in the coming days. At that point police will know the date of first court appearance and provide that information, a spokesman said.

Diane Leftault told CBC News in June that she was told her son had died after being stabbed in the leg. Having a background in health care, she assumed he was struck in an artery something the chief medical examiner confirmed for her later.
