Scientific Games builds on deal with Hungarian Lottery

Scientific Games has announced it will continue working with the Hungarian Lottery Szerencsejáték.
The company will continue to launch more iLottery games with the lottery and is set to offer more eInstant games, thus expanding its global footprint, as it now works with nearly 30 international lotteries.
The Hungarian Lottery has reported an increase of 58% in digital sales since working with Scientific Games from 2018 to 2020. The company also provides the lottery with a sports betting program, central gaming system and retail technology.
Director of game development and strategy at Szerencsejáték, Gergely Koppány said: “Scientific Games is an important partner in our modernisation efforts. The launch of our eInstant program last year has contributed to year-over-year growth. Our players are enjoying all of the new eInstant games, and we look forward to offering additional games ....

Paddy Power outlines post-lockdown operations for reopened UK stores

Flutter Entertainment’s Paddy Power brand has announced the reopening of its UK stores and how it will operate.
In a statement, the operator confirmed all of its stores across England, Wales and Scotland are now open, while the Irish ones remain closed.
However, unlike in Scotland and Wales, shops in England will have to operate with heightened restrictions.
The restrictions include a maximum capacity of eight people on the shop floor, only two gaming machines on, all furniture removed and no live sports.
Customers may only visit each shop for a maximum of 15 minutes and can make two visits a day before shops close at 8pm. ....

New Zealand study suggests problem gamblers likelier to withdraw from communities

A study by the Auckland University of Technology (AUT) suggests people with gambling addiction problems are more likely to self-isolate, withdrawing from social groups.
The study was led by Gambling and Addictions Research Centre associate professor Maria Bellringer and funded by the Ministry of Health, reported
RNZ.
If somebody is an active member of community groups and they pull away for no apparent reason, this could be an indicator that this person is experiencing gambling problems hidden from other people, said Bellringer.
The study also suggests Māori and Pasifika populations in New Zealand are at higher risk of suffering harm from gambling. ....

Swedish success for Kindred Group

In Sweden and prominent online casino operator Kindred Group has reportedly won its appeal against an earlier determination from the nation’s Spelinspektionen regulator that it had been breaking local rules regarding online casino deposit limits.
According to a Wednesday report from Gambling Insider, the Maltese firm was penalized in December after sites run by its Spooniker Limited subsidiary were found guilty of allowing online casino players to deposit more than the $585 weekly ceiling. The source detailed that this temporary six-month threshold was introduced in June of last year as a way to help limit problem gambling during the coronavirus pandemic and was later extended by a further six months. ....
