Afro-Urban entertainment powerhouse, Trace, has begun distributing “Lady Buckit and the Motley Mopsters” a Nigerian feature-length 3D animated film after inking a deal with Hot Ticket Productions to distribute the film globally.
In May this year, Trace’s distribution arm inked a deal with Hot Ticket Productions to distribute Nigeria’s first feature-length 3D animated film, “Lady Buckit and the Motley Mopsters”, worldwide – opening the door to a potential global audience for an animation that was conceived in the home of a Nigerian geologist.
Securing this circulation channel gave the animated movie a new lease of life at a time when Covid-19 has kept millions of people from stores, restaurants, and movie theaters. ....

‘Lady Buckit and the Motley Mopsters (LBMM)’, Nigeria’s first feature-length animated movie, has finally hit the cinemas in Nigeria and across the globe.

The movie, which starred 30-member cast and crew, was released in cinemas on Friday after over two years of production work.
It follows the story of Bukky, a young girl, whose search for answers, leads her down a path of self-discovery. She inadvertently turns into a bucket and bonds with the most unusual characters.
The 80-minute project features several prominent movie stars including Bimbo Akintola, Patrick Doyle, Awazi Angbalaga, Bola Edwards, Casey Edema, Oluchi Odii and Francis Sule. ....

It is a cosy Sunday afternoon as I walk into a dimly lit movie theatre in the Lekki environs of Lagos, Nigeria.
Already seated are hundreds of guests, including celebrities and members of the press like myself. As I make my way to empty rows in the middle, I spot a few extra-young faces in front, two of which I later learn are part of the cast for the movie about to be screened to a select audience, one week ahead of its premiere.
