Kraft Foods announced via their Instagram that there is a new flavor of mac and cheese arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day! Is it chocolate? Strawberries? Cherry? No! It’s … candy! We don’t know what kind of candy or why they would do this, but it’s real and it’s happening. And all I can think about is how THIS is proof that we’re in the darkest timeline.
You can’t just take something so classic and change it up for sugar’s sake. What’s next? Oreo mac and cheese? Gummy bear mac and cheese? Red velvet mac and cheese? All of them are an instant nope. Mac and cheese is delicious cheesy goodness and no candy should be involved in its making. Thank god it’s only available online and by chance. ....

SELMA — For one local couple aiming to start their own business, 2020 was a salty year indeed.
Couple Viviana and Nancy Sisneros’ dream of opening their own eatery hit multiple snags in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and personal tragedies.
“I’m very determined. I know my wife is determined and we will make sure we get this going, somehow some way,” said Viviana.
The couple rented out a space at 1920 High St. in Selma in August but have yet to move in due to financial troubles. They’ve instead been operating their pretzel business, cheekily named Knotty Chix, out of their home for the time being. ....

Memorial Trail Ice House is now open on Washington Avenue.
You now have permission to sip cocktails at a large indoor-outdoor bar by Memorial Park.
Memorial Trail Ice House, which has been in the works for about one and a half years, is open at 6202 Washington Ave. With a 20,000-square-foot, dog-friendly backyard and lawn games and rotating food trucks, the icehouse is sure to be a hot spot for folks before and after outdoor activities in the park.
This area needed a spacious, outdoor icehouse that brings a different experience than the bars and clubs along Washington Avenue,  said John Shaeffer, CEO and founder of Memorial Trail Ice House. We want to leverage our proximity to the park as a landing spot for people after they ve played a round of golf, run around the exercise trail, or played intermural games. ....
