Canadian Provinces Team With North Dakota to Vaccinate Cross-Border Truckers

Leaders from North Dakota and two Canadian provinces have reached agreements to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to Canada-based truckers who cross the border to deliver goods.
North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister announced the Essential Worker Cross-Border Vaccination Initiative on April 20. Burgum and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe announced April 27 that they signed a memorandum of understanding to vaccinate essential workers who transport goods across the border. North Dakota’s northern border spans portions of both provinces. ....

The executive director of the Saskatchewan Trucking Association says the opportunity for truckers in the province to get COVID-19 vaccinations in the United States will be good for business.
“I think this will certainly help keep the free-flowing movement of goods across the border,” Susan Ewart told Gormley on Wednesday. “Our drivers will be vaccinated in North Dakota, and it’s something that we certainly support and are looking forward to getting moving on.”
Ewart says roughly 2,000 drivers will be able to roll up their sleeves for a COVID shot after the Saskatchewan and North Dakota governments signed a memorandum of understanding earlier this week. ....

The Saskatchewan Trucking Association is glad to see truck drivers based in Saskatchewan receive their COVID vaccines in North Dakota.
It comes after a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the province and the state to allow for roughly 2,000 truck drivers to receive the vaccine.
STA Executive Director Susan Ewart says there’s been very little transmission among the trucking community.
“If you think about what’s going on in Saskatchewan today and with transmission increasing and those variants happening, and access to vaccines, this is definitely a great move between Saskatchewan and North Dakota for them to provide us some assistance to help get more people vaccinated.” ....

Sask. and North Dakota Reach an Agreement to Vaccinate Sask. Essential Workers Who Travel Across the Canada-U.S. Border

The province of Saskatchewan and the state of North Dakota have signed an agreement to vaccinate essential workers.
Approximately 2-thousand Saskatchewan residents will be eligible for the program.
Starting tomorrow (Wed), Saskatchewan truck drivers will be eligible for vaccination at the Drayton site in North Dakota.
“And at in the coming days, North Dakota is going to set up one more location to vaccinate truckers as well as other essential energy workers that are crossing into Saskatchewan at the North Portal border crossing just south of Estevan.” Premier Scott Moe said during the COVID-19 news conference. ....
