C. Thacher Carter / The Times Record After years of steady growth, Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association will be unveiling its new Pleasant Street facility in Brunswick to the public on Aug. 12. Founded in 2006 by a small group of fishermen in Port Clyde, Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association is a non-profit organization that looks to involve local Maine fishermen with legal and environmental aspects of the fishing industry through policy and advocacy. According to Executive Director Ben Martens, over the last year or so, Maine Coast Fisherman Association has developed two new programs that have expanded parts of the organization’s mission: Fishermen Feeding Mainers and the Fishermen Wellness Program.

Brunswick foundation helps teachers respond to pandemic with mini-grants This school year the Brunswick Community Education Foundation provided smaller grants to more teachers and with more frequency. Share The Brunswick Community Education Foundation decided to offer emergency mini-grants to Brunswick school teachers this school year, helping them find new and safe ways to teach students during a pandemic. The donation-based foundation offers grant applications once a year but board member Susan Olcott said the board agreed to offer four rounds this year. The organization just finished its third round of applications this school year. “At the very beginning of the pandemic, there was obviously an immediate need for technology that came from talking to people in the district and superintendent’s office,” Olcott, a member of the Brunswick foundation’s board. “We were able to raise a bunch of money and purchase 50 laptops just in the thick of things and following that,
