JEDDAH: Videos from an exiled Turkish mafia boss are putting Ankara under pressure, with his latest video making serious allegations about state corruption.
Sedat Peker, who lives in Dubai, has been making headlines and shaking up social media with his claims about prominent political figures in Turkey.
His videos aim to reveal his deep connections to the government and also seek revenge against those who discredited him in favor of rival mafia leader Alaattin Cakici, who was released from prison last year. ....

There is a growing local clientele in Lebanon hungry for a more “authentic” experience of the country. Through word of mouth and social media, rural activities, such as fruit picking and hiking, are slowly moving from small groups of connoisseurs to being embraced by a broader public. Guesthouses across the country, once informal, are becoming a stay-cation preference for Lebanese. Doha: Souq Waqif, the traditional market which is a historic remnant of the previous century’s commerce in the Gulf, remains vibrant during Ramadan despite the pandemic. Due to COVID-19 related restrictions, it remains open only on weekdays with precautionary measures in place.
At 9.30pm, visitors, both of local and foreign origins, begin to swarm the main streets of the Souq. Most are middle-aged, but a few youths hang around coffee shops, enjoying their evening refreshments.  ....

Israel has a long-standing interest in Lebanon. These interests have periodically manifested themselves in bloody attacks against the small Arab state. Two important sources on the Zionist plans for Lebanon are the diary of Moshe Sharett, who was the Prime Minster of Israel in 1954-1955 and who was considered a “soft Zionist”, and Livia Rokach’s “Israel’s Sacred Terrorism: A study based on Moshe Sharett’s Personal Diary, and other documents”. In the latter we find some very important information, and it is worth quoting at length:
