By Marc Jones LONDON, May 13 (Reuters) - India s devastating COVID-19 crisis is making investors question more than ever whether after years of debt accumulation and patchy progress on reforms, a country touted as a future economic superpower still deserves its investment grade status. A spate of downgrades last year had already left India s investment grade credit ratings hanging by a thread and the severity of the current virus wave is making the main agencies, S&P, Moody s and Fitch agitated again. All three firms have either cut - or warned they could cut - the country s growth forecasts in recent weeks and that government debt as a share of GDP will jump to a record 90% this year. ....
HIS MAJESTY MISUZULU HAS SECURITY FEARS Jabulani Langa The Zulu nation’s new king, Prince Misuzulu. Photo by Jabulani Langa. COPS have been lashed for reportedly withdrawing Prince Misuzulu’s VIP protection as he has not been installed by government yet. Zulu Monarch Prime Minister Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi said the new king would be placed in a vulnerable position if security was withdrawn. “I’m deeply distressed by news coming from KwaKhangelamankengane royal palace that members of the SAPS VIP Protection Unit have been instructed to withdraw. We were not informed about this decision. “SAPS members stationed at the palace received instructions from the provincial commissioner, purportedly on the basis that his majesty has not yet been installed by government and is thus not entitled to VIP protection,” he said. ....

The newly appointed monarch of the AmaZulu nation – King Misuzulu kaZwelithini – has been described as a unifier of the Zulu nation. This is according to Prince Zeblon Zulu, a historian and uncle of the new king. 46-year-old King Misuzulu KaZwelithini is the eldest son of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini and the recently departed Queen Regent, Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu, daughter of the late eSwatini King Sobhuza. Misuzulu – loosely translated – means to unite the AmaZulu. His grandmother Queen Maphovela named him Hlomesakhesihlangu – a name, which Prince Zulu jokes, was difficult for the King’s mother to pronounce. ....

Buthelezi hits back at KZN ANCâs criticism of his security concerns By Vernon Mchunu Share DURBAN - PRINCE Mangosuthu Buthelezi has dismissed as a âknee-jerk reactionâ the KwaZulu-Natal ANCâs suggestion that he, as the traditional prime minister to the Zulu Monarchy, had acted without information when he expressed concerns around the security of newly appointed King Misuzulu kaZwelithini. â(The ANC) have accused me of acting without information, and even suggest a political agenda. This is an extraordinary accusation, creating a political confrontation where none existed,â said Buthelezi, who had earlier raised concerns at what he described as the imminent withdrawal of an SAPS VIP security detail from the KwaKhangelamankengane Palace. ....
