Minister for Cooperation S.T. Somashekar, who is in charge of Mysuru district, has directed the police to strengthen security at the K.R.Hospital where doctors on COVID-19 duty were roughed up following a patient’s death.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, Mr. Somashekar said action will also be initiated against those responsible for manhandling the hospital staff. The Minister said he has also spoken to the authorities concerned on preventing such incidents from being repeated.
Extolling the entire medical community for their work during the pandemic, the Minister said the doctors and nurses were working round-the-clock to treat the patients and one had to be indebted to them for their services. ....

Amid the unprecedented second wave of Covid-19 and sudden spike in cases, Karnataka on Tuesday (11 May) warned to initiate legal action against all those hospitals that have failed to hand over beds to the government till date.
Karnataka revenue minister, R Ashoka and Home Minister, Basavaraj Bommai held a virtual meeting with officials concerned to address Bengaluru s shortage of beds and decided to initiate legal action against errant hospitals. ....

Amid the unprecedented second wave of Covid-19 and sudden spike in cases, Karnataka on Tuesday warned legal action against all those hospitals that have failed to hand over beds to the government till date.
Karnataka revenue minister, R. Ashoka and Home Minister, Basavaraj Bommai held an virtual meeting with officials concerned here to address Bengaluru s shortage of beds and decided to initiate legal action against errant hospitals here.
The revenue minister said that all hospitals within the Bengaluru Civic Body limits including those with 20-30 beds capacity and over 100 beds, must be inspected and seize 50 per cent of these beds must be seized immediately. ....

As per the order, in government COVID-19 hospitals, the patient shall be admitted as per the existing state protocol.

BENGALURU: Amid a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state, the Karnataka government on Sunday issued new guidelines for hospital admission, discharge, and transfer of COVID-19 patients.
A circular issued by Karnataka s Department of Health and Family Welfare read, In view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the State, for the management of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospital beds are a valuable resource and hence, shall be used judiciously for those patients who are clinically in need of these beds. In this context, the guidelines are reiterated for hospital admission, discharge, and transfer of COVID-19 patients. ....
