Punters in Inverness have been relishing in their new found freedom as hospitality restrictions relaxed on Monday.
Customers and tourists flocked to their local bars and restaurants in Inverness as doors opened for the first time since Christmas.
From Monday, areas of the north and north-east moved from level three restrictions to level two, allowing hospitality vendors to welcome customers indoors for the first time this year. ....

We’ve seen video after video of unprovoked attacks on Asian Americans and reports that show an alarming uptick in anti-Asian violence. One set of data, from the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at Cal State San Bernardino, found a 164% increase in Asian-related hate crimes in the first quarter of 2021 compared with the same period last year.

The attacks took place in schools, restaurants, stores, subways, sidewalks, fitness classes and Zoom meetings. Some involved allegations about the coronavirus, while other perpetrators used age-old racial slurs like “ching chong.” ....

Bob was lucky enough to meet Tracy, a Fort Walton Beach native, in Birmingham Alabama. They met while Bob was selling wine and Tracy was managing a restaurant in Five Points South.  After moving around a bit, they settled down in Plano, Texas, to raise their three children: Brandon, Natalie and Nicholas. Once the older two had moved out of the house, they were blessed to be able to move home and have been living in Shalimar for almost two years.  ....
