On 21 February, just over a month before the first of eight phases of polls in West Bengal, the CBI knocked at the door of Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee, party supremo and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjeeâs nephew, to summon his wife and sister-in-law in a year-old case of coal theft.

Kolkata, March 15 : The family members of Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee s sister-in-law Menaka Gambhir appeared before the CBI on Monday to record their statements in the multi-crore coal pilferage scam being investigated by the central probe agency.
Gambhir s father-in-law Pawan Arora and her husband Ankush Arora deposed before the CBI.
Meanwhile, the probe agency has postponed the date for the questioning of Trinamool Congrerss leader and West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee to March 23. Earlier, the agency had summoned the Trinamool leader in connection with the ICore chit fund scam for questioning on March 15 at its Kolkata office.

Kolkata: Moving ahead with its probe into the illegal coal smuggling case and the ICore chit fund case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has summoned Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee s sister-in-law Menka Gambhir s father-in-law and husband for questioning.
The CBI also summoned Trinamool Congress leader and Education Minister Partha Chatterjee in connection with the ICore chit fund scam on March 15.
A source related to the probe told IANS: The CBI has summoned Menka Gambhir s father-in-law Pawan Arora and husband Ankush Arora for questioning on March 15 at its office here.
