Online gambling premises raided after operating for a week 20 Feb 2021 / 09:10 H. KUALA LUMPUR: An online gambling premises in Bandar Puchong Jaya here which began operation last week was busted after a raid by the police yesterday evening. The premises at a shophouse was raided by an Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism Unit (D7) team from Serdang at about 6.50 pm. Serdang police chief ACP Razali Abu Samah said two men, an Indonesian and a Myanmar national, believed to be caretakers of the premises were picked up. According to him, also nabbed were nine men including two Bangladesh nationals who were clients at the premises and police also seized 18 laptops as well as RM465 in cash. ....
PETALING JAYA: About 80 staff members from the Selangor Health Department are stationed at the Malawati Stadium in Shah Alam, which began operating as a Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) for the Petaling district on Monday (Feb 8). State Health director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman told StarMetro that other personnel on the premises included police and local government agencies who will assist in carrying out the CAC operations. “The stadium and everyone at the area have been sanitised as usual by our staff according to procedure with the help of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), ” he said. It was announced that at the CAC, Covid-19 patients will be assessed before they are sent to hospital, Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre in Serdang or told to undergo quarantine at home. ....
