Hyderabad: The newly-appointed Telangana State Women s Commission, headed by V. Sunitha Laxma Reddy, a former minister, took charge at the Buddha Bhavan on Friday, in the presence of TRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao.
Sunitha Laxma Reddy, who has earlier served as women and child development minister, said that there are challenges that lay ahead due to non-functioning of the commission for two-and-a-half years, and that she will analyse the situation in the next few weeks. ....

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Government appointed former minister Vakiti Sunitha Lakshma Reddy as the Chairperson to the State Women s Commission, a position which has been vacant since 2018.
Six others have been appointed as members of the Commission, according to a Government Order (GO). As per the GO the term of the Chairperson and the members would be five years from the date on which they assume office.
The State Women s Commission has been headless since Tripurana Venkata Ratnam demitted office about two and half years ago.The TRS government has come under flak from opposition parties for not appointing a chairperson to the women s commission. The appointment of the chairperson had come after a relentless fight by the activists for almost 2 years where petitions were filed in the Telangana High Court. The HC had set December 31st as a deadline for the appointment of the chairperson. The Telangana Govt finally appointed Sunitha Reddy ....

Former minister Vakiti Sunitha Lakshma Reddy was appointed as chairperson of the Telangana state women’s commission, nearly two and a half years after the post fell vacant. The women’s commission also got six new members who will hold office till 2025. ....

Hyderabad: Over two years after being vacant, the Telangana state government on Sunday appointed former minister Vakiti Sunitha as the new chairperson of the women’s commission. Along with her, a six-member commission is also constituted.
A fully functional women’s commission has been a longstanding demand of several women’s groups in the last couple of years. The commission was head-less since Tripurana Venkata Ramana in 2018.
The term of the Chairperson and the members would be five years from the date on which they assume office, the government order said. ....

HYDERABAD: After two and a half years, Telangana state can now boast of fully functional Women s Commission. The state government late on Sunday night announced the appointment of Vakiti Sunitha Lakshma Reddy as chairperson and six members of the statutory body.
