The Hammond Street Congregational Church in Bangor has run for 46 years the Ecumenical Food Cupboard. Back in the day, they used a come-in-and-shop food pantry for people to choose what they needed, but due to the ongoing pandemic, the cupboard is providing healthy hefty boxes of food to any Mainer in need. Valentine’s Day is next weekend, and if you are one who likes to do kind things for your special someone, and do good works for the community, Hammond Street Congregational Church is holding a virtual Sweet Treat’s Sale. Bakers and Candy makers are busy making a variety of sweets. There will be two sizes of gift boxes available for purchase. Filled with home-made candy, cookies, fudge, whoopee pies, cupcakes and brownies. This will make it a Sweet Treat Valentine. Small boxes are priced at $6. Large are $12.
