Excavation work at a café where a TV documentary had suggested to police Fred West may have buried Mary Bastholm have found no trace of the missing girl.
No human remains have been found under a cafe in Gloucester believed to have links to serial killer Fred West and missing girl Mary Bastholm, police have said.

Police concluded their search this morning, Wednesday, and confirmed there were no human remains in the Clean Plate Cafe on Southgate Street. The £55,000 investigation was launched after a film crew detected new evidence that human remains might exist beneath the cellar, where serial Fred West is thought to have laid flooring when Mary went missing in 1968.
