HENDERSON â For many, spring serves as the season of rebirth and rejoicing. Hendersonâs HUBZone Technology Initiative celebrates that as well as environmental responsibility through its Earth Day Donation Drive. From April 8 through April 22, HUBZone Technology Initiative and its partners will have donation bins in selected locations throughout the region. The local nonprofit has established a long track record of taking old and unwanted laptop computers, restoring them as Google Chromebooks, then distributing them to organizations dedicated to good works in the community. Debbie Boyd, director for the Laptop Team, who heads efforts to obtain laptops for HUBZone Technology Initiative, said,âThese laptops will help so many children and adults that do not have technology resources in their home but must still have virtual classes and work remotely. So, please clean out those closets and sheds so your old laptops can provide new opportunities for those in need. ....
